This week we will begin our new unit on time. Students will recieve a family letter and study guide when our new copiers come! THis week we will be focusing on telling time to the 5 minute and time to the minute.This week we will be reviewing grpahs and measuring to the nearest 1/4 inch. We will also be reviewing for our test on Unit 5 which will be on Thursday and Friday. We will have a quiz on Wednesday on finding equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, naming fractional parts, and ordering fractions.This week we will continue to review fractional number lines. We will find points on the fraction lines and find distances between the points. Additionally, we will begin to learn about equivalent fractions and comparing fractions. We will have a quiz on Friday over these concepts. Please view the video below for additional information!This week, we are beginning our next unit on Fractions. Students will be learning about fractional parts of a whole, and a numerator/denominator. Click for the Family Letter. Students will learn about decomposing a figure to determine area, review measuring to the nearest 1/2 and 1/4 inches and review for the test. The first part of the test will be on Friday, and the second part will be on Monday. I will review before the test on both days. Please let me know if you have any questions! This week we will begin learning about perimeter. Students will be able to find the perimeter of shapes and use their knowledge of perimeter to find missing side lengths of shapes.
